ACT Government response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse

The Royal Commission recommends the institutions uphold the rights of the child. Recommendations focus on preventing sexual abuse and making institutions safer for children through the implementation of child safe standards. It also includes recommendations for organisations to respond to online sexual abuse in institutions in order to create child safe online environments.

NSW Child Safe Standards

The ten Child Safe Standards were recommended by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse to make organisations safer for children.

Each of the Standards is expressed as a statement of an expected outcome that organisations must achieve. The Standards also include minimum requirements, to provide more clarity for your organisation about what you need to do.

The Western Australian Government is committed to supporting the development of child safe organisations for children and young people.
