Annette Johson

Dominant Freedom Cup, South East Queensland Based Facilitator

About Annette

Annette Johnson is a passionate South East Queensland-based facilitator with over 20 years of experience in early childhood and school-aged education. Her journey began as a high school student completing her Certificate 3 while still in school. Over the years, Annette has evolved through various roles, like so many —starting as a casual educator and advancing to room leader, assistant centre manager, OSHC coordinator, regional manager, and service support specialist. She has served as an Educational Leader at several points throughout her career, solidifying her role as a mentor and leader in the sector.

Annette found her true home in educational excellence, championing the significance of play, childhood, and advocating for children’s rights. She is deeply passionate about the pivotal and privileged role educators play in a child’s or young person’s life and works tirelessly to elevate this in every setting she touches. As a proud Dominant Freedom Cup, closely followed by her connection cup, Annette finds joy in travelling around, meeting, working with, and supporting educators and practitioners across our beautiful country—and beyond. This natural affinity for connecting with others allows her to truly understand the unique challenges and opportunities educators and practitioners face, and to share her insights and strategies to support their growth.

Currently completing a postgraduate qualification in Human Services, Annette’s ongoing education complements her extensive experience, reinforcing her lifelong commitment to learning, leadership, and supporting educators and practitioners. She is dedicated to helping them develop the knowledge, confidence, and tools they need to create enriching, reflective learning environments. Annette believes it is a privilege to work with children and young people, influencing their growth and development, and she is committed to fostering continuous improvement, wellbeing, and meaningful connections within communities.
